Carolyn Jane Bowen Shockley, age 71 of Odenville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday evening September 9, 2026. She is preceded in death by her father Talmadge Bowen, mother Eunetta George; brother Talmadge Dewey Bowen; sisters Mildred Jean Shockley and Mary Faye Bowen; and her beloved husband Larry Wayne Shockley.
She is survived by her children Jennifer Elkins (Michael), Ronnie Shockley (Crimson), Lisa Kennedy (Brian), Dennis Shockley, and Amy Garrett (Jason). Grandchildren Lindsey Johnson (Cameron), Owen Carr (Macensie), Adam Carr, Austin Kennedy, Anna Kennedy, Caitlin Kennedy, Jon Kennedy, Makayla Kennedy, McKenzie Bridges, and Bentley Bridges. Great-grandchildren Ellisyn Johnson, Briar Johnson, Barrett Johnson, Dallas Carr. Her sisters Margie Cartee and Trisha Schultz.
Services will be held at Liberty Community Church in Odenville, Alabama. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with the funeral services to begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Services directed by Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds, Alabama
