September 26, 1960 – September 24, 2026
Christi Grimes Fagan, lovingly known as Mimi, passed away on September 24, 2026, just two days before her 66th birthday. A lifelong resident of Moody, Alabama, Christi was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
Christi was the person everyone could count on. She was a strong and supportive woman, a gentle soul, and a kind and patient presence to everyone she met. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, often putting the needs of others before her own. As a mother and grandmother, she was a source of comfort, warmth, and unconditional love. She loved fiercely, cared deeply, and made the people around her feel supported and at home.
She shared her life with her husband, John Fagan, and took great pride in her family. She is survived by her brothers Bobby and Bill Grimes, her sister Mary Porch, her children, Brandon Fagan and his wife, Emma; Alison DiMauro and her husband, Dominic; and Jennifer Knejfl and her husband, Henry. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, who brought her immense joy (and chaos) and whom she loved with all her heart.
Christi was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Fagan, and her parents, Bob and Billie Grimes.
Some of Christi’s happiest memories were made with her family. She loved Disney and had always dreamed of going on a cruise to see the crystal blue waters she had longed for. Last July, that dream became a reality when she was able to take a cruise with her loved ones. It was a special experience that brought her joy and created memories her family will cherish for years to come.
The beach was one of her favorite places, and Fort Morgan held a special place in her heart. During family vacations, she was always the first one out enjoying the sunshine and the last one in. She loved the warmth of the sun, the beauty of the water, and the time spent together as a family. Her family hopes to continue their yearly beach vacations in her honor, carrying forward a tradition she loved and the memories they made together.
Christi’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. She taught her family the importance of showing up for one another, caring for others, and making time for the people we love. Her gentle spirit, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to guide those she leaves behind.
Though her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort in the promise of God’s love and the hope of being reunited with her one day. Her love will live on in her children, grandchildren, and in the traditions and memories they carry forward.
Christi will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered as Mimi
