Butch was a family-oriented man who devoted himself to caring for those he loved. That same kindness and generosity extended to his friends, who knew they could always count on him. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, enjoying the outdoors hunting at his club and fishing the many lakes of Alabama that he knew like the back of his hand. Butch touched so many lives through his caring heart, quiet strength and steadfast presence. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Butch is preceded in death by his father, Daryl, mother, Mary Ann, grandparents, Frank and Ruey Jones and Ernest and Irene Martin, brother-in-law, Frank Davis, nephew, Gray Jones, and niece, Emily Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence, children, Mary Ann, Amy and Cason, grandchildren, Jackson, Grayson and Katie, step mother, Yudora, brothers, Mike(Brenda) and David(Lynn), sisters, Karen and Lyn(Larry), and many nephews and nieces as well as many close friends who he considered family.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the funeral home. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
