Mr. Engle was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Engle. He was a longtime educator at Gadsden State and the University of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Engle, daughters, Daphne Engle Stovall, Wendy Tillery, Holly Pruitt, Lori Murphy, sons, Michael Engle, Del Engle, Jared Griffin, sister, Lisa Donaldson, brothers, Frank Engle, Vic Engle and (17) grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
