David L. Reed, age 71, of Moody, AL passed away at home with family by his side on Sunday, August 16, 2026. He served 50 plus years as a machinist/tool and die maker in the manufacturing field. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Handley Montgomery and father, Leon Reed.
David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gwen Reed, brother, Larry Reed (Bonnie); sister, Sandra Hull (Fred), daughters, Stacey Carter (Aaron), Angelia Kelly; 5 granddaughters, Megan Simmons (Shannon), Taylor Finch (Anthony), Alyssa Boggs (Jason), Savannah Boggs, Emily Boggs; 9 great grandchildren, Mayleigh, Jaxyn, Hayden, Aiden, Mica, Miracle, Lennon, Konner, and Creed; nieces and nephews, numerous wonderful friends and neighbors. Pallbearers will include his nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM with graveside services to follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
