Donna Hadaway

Born to Lois and Ralph McKelvey, Sr. on February 25, 1947, Donna “Manny” Hadaway of Cook Springs, Alabama died peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her devoted children Stacey (Will) Dawson and Joey Chambers and the love of her life, grandson Logan Chambers. She also leaves behind sisters, Elizabeth Bishop (Gary) and Susan Brower, brother, David McKelvey (Shannon) and many special nieces and nephews. Sister Deborah Lee and brother Ralph (Alex) McKelvey, Jr. preceded her in death.

Donna spent her career with BellSouth and AT & T and retired in 2000. She loved life and was quite the prankster, sparring daily with her son-in-law, Will who she lovingly referred to as Do Do. Grandson Logan meant the world to her.

Donna was a natural gardener and loved plants of all kinds. Friends recall that she would often stop on the road to dig a plant that she would take home and plant in her own yard. She could literally grow flowers from sticks.

A celebration and remembrance of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 1750 Ashville Road, Leeds, Alabama; visitation at 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:30 am; Reverend Jackie Connell officiating.
