Douglas R. Carr

Mr. Carr served in the United State Marine Corps during the Korean War. He loved to fish with his family, especially his brother-in-law. He was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Carr has also served as a volunteer fire fighter as well as a draft man. He was an avid reader and an Alabama football fan.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Catherine Louise Carr.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Fay Carr; sons, Russell Carr and Bob Brown; daughter, Lisa Brasher; and grandchildren, Derek Brasher, Hayle Brasher, Lindsey Carr, Owen Carr, Adam Carr, David Brown, and Joshua Brown.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Vandiver, AL. Funeral services will follow Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will take place in the church’s adjacent cemetery.
