Eddie Jones, age 79, of Moody, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022. Eddie was born December 9, 1942. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Jones; parents, Allen and Ila Jones; brothers, Allen Jones, Norman Jones and Ricky Jones; sister, Pat Jones. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Julie) Jones and Michael (Chere) Jones; sister, Joyce (Michael) Freiburg; grandchildren, Tyler (Amy) Jones, Avery Jones and Michaela Jones; great-grandchild, Judah Jones. A host of nieces and nephews. He was part of the United States Air Force and retired from the Birmingham News. He was a long time member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 10, 2022 from 6:00-8:00PM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. A funeral service will be held on Friday March 11, 2022 at 2:00PM from the funeral home. Burial will be at Moody Cemetery.
