With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Novak on October 28, 2025. Born on August 4, 1948, Jerry’s life was one marked by kindness, service, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community.
Jerry dedicated much of his life to helping others. As a proud former member of the Greater Allentown Elks, he especially cherished his time working with the Crippled Children Foundation, where his generous spirit brought comfort and joy to countless lives.
Jerry retired after 22 years at ACIPCO, where he left a lasting impression on his coworkers and friends. He was deeply involved in his church and community, always finding ways to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Fred and Dorothy Novak
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Alice Novak; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jamie Novak; and his cherished grandson, Ian Novak; He is also survived by his brother, Mike Novak, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of “unofficially adopted” children whose lives were deeply touched by his kindness and generosity.
To know Jerry was to be welcomed with open arms, to be met with laughter, and to be reminded of what truly matters — faith, family, friendship, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. A reception to follow at Vandiver Church of God ,13476 Highway 43 Vandiver, AL 35176 , where family and friends are invited to share stories, memories, and fellowship in honor of Jerry’s life.
