Grace Marie Whitten

Marie was born on May 3, 1935 in Douglas, Alabama to Emmett Ethridge Musick and Lessie Goss. Marie lived most of her childhood and later with her husband raising her three children on Sand Mountain. She married Robert Earl Whitten in 1955 and had three children Teresa, Lamar, and Sonia.

She is survived by her sister Cassie Bradford (John), her daughters Teresa (Mickey Williams) and Sonia (Dennis Garbo), her daughter-in-law Kathy Whitten (Lamar), her grandchildren,Ashley (Dennis Ashley), Joe (Cody Bonds), Cristy (Jeff Edwards). Monica (Kelly Harvey), Whitney (Richard Port), Tyler (Jennifer), and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Earl Whitten, her son Robert Lamar Whitten, her grandson Derick Lamar Whitten, her parents Emmett Ethridge Musick and Lessie Goss, her brother Arthel Musick, her sisters Geraldine Spears, Wilene Jones.

There is a graveside service planned for July 12th – 11:00, at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist church in Douglas, Alabama.
