- October 16, 1957: Enlisted in the Army National Guard, 715th
Maintenance Company.
- November 28, 1968: Drafted into the U.S. Army and completed one
tour of duty in Vietnam. He returned to the United States the
following April and rejoined his National Guard unit.
- October 18, 1990: Mobilized by the U.S. Army and stationed at Ft.
Benning to train for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, during
which he sustained injuries. Following his recovery, he returned home
to his family.

Visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds, Alabama, on August 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with the Funeral Service at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds, Alabama, on August 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm, and burial to follow at Piney Grove Cemetery.
