      I met Greg when I was a young- insecure teenager at UAB.  Despite my faults, he took me under his wing, shared his friendship and his brotherhood through Tau Kappa Epsilon.  Through Greg's actions, he taught me a lesson that rooted later in life; to sieze the moment. 

     Greg was the type of man to touch others in his life (especially with his sense of humor) and I am grateful to have known him.  I am am sorry to hear of his passing and extend my condolences to his family and friends.

My fondest memory of Greg was his prayer at our last family reunion. He mentioned blessing our family heritage. It was very touching to me and one of the sweetest prayers I've ever heard.I will always treasure that memory of Greg. My prayers are with all of you. Janet Woodham

The best memories I have of Greg were at our family reunions and camping trips when we were children.  There was never a dull moment as long as Greg was around looking for ways to amuse himself and the rest of us.  He told the most hilarious, graphic stories that would make us laugh so hard we would lose our breath. I will always treasure those memories and I know everyone who knew him will.  That huge smile will never be forgotten. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Lisa, Faye and Family, I know that Greg loved you so much and was special to each of you. All of our  children show their love in many different ways, and I know how much he showed his love to you. As a coworker with the phone company, it was always a pleasure to have a moment to visit and work with Greg.  He is surely missed here and in our hearts. Greg "Junior" was my co-worker in Crestview.  It is still sinking in that he passed away.  I will miss his calls and friendship.  He was never without a joke!

I remember Greg but  as the boy who had all the energy any child ever needed,  much to the dismay of some his teachers.  He almost always had the desk by the teacher, at least in grammar school.  My    son, Steve, was in that class and also was not the quietest child in class.  My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Greg's family and friends. I had the pleasure of knowing Greg when I was at UAB as a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Greg was a charter member of TKE Fraternity at UAB, so our paths crossed frequently. I remember him to be a truly nice and very funny guy. He always made you glad to be around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is now keeping the angels entertained, I'm sure.

I too first got to know Greg through TKE.  He was always made things interesting.  As one of the original charter members we held a very special bond which endures to this day.  While we have all gone our seperate ways over the years, the memory of our time together at UAB will always remain with me.  My condolences to the family.

Greg and I were in the TKE fraternity together sharing lots of great memories of living in the TKE house together. Greg always was so upbeat with a constant smile. A true Southern gentleman epitomizing our values of family and honor. Greg will definitely be missed. Greg I'll hopefully see you on the other side, but this time I'll tie your furniture to Your ceiling in the TKE house. My heart goes out to the Samples family; may you be lifted up knowing that Greg touched so many people in such a positive way.

We remember Greg as the fun kid who lived across the street,the kid that ate watermelon in our back yard, as the young guy that ran around with our daughter,the young man who worked with me at the telephone company but most of all his sense of humor. His laugh, his big smile was contagious. He brought "fun" to everyone and everything. We watched Greg grow from an infant to a fine young man who loved all and never met a stranger. We were proud of him as a friend, neighbor, and co-worker. My family and I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss.  My sister and I grew up with the Samples boys and they were all wonderful, fun-loving, kind individuals.  Every time you ran into one of them, there was a smile on their face.  When I went to college I had no idea that I would run into Greg again, but he was there and was a member of the Teke fraternity -- I have great memories of Greg.

It's funny, I tried to look him up on Facebook on the day of his wreck but didn't have any luck.  It is amazing how short life is.  Greg was a great guy and always had a smile for everyone.  We had many fun nights together in the TKE Fraternity.  He will be missed by his family and friends alike.  God bless you Lisa and your family.

Greg and I were TKE fraternity brothers at UAB and were among that special group of young men that were Charter Members. Greg was known for his sense of humor and will be fondly remembered by all that knew him.

We came to know Greg when my husband Bobby got a job with Centrylink. We were staying in Crestview. Greg needed a hand and we lent that hand as he would have done for us. He always thought that he was a burden and we always told him different. We loved having him around. We are so greatful we had the oppertunity to meet he and his wonderful family. God brings everyone in our lives for a reason. We are blessed to have known such a wonderful man. We will love you always. Lisa stay stong and we love you all of you. MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

I met Greg Samples through my wife's churches in Enterprise and Midland City.  I appreciated his kindness, humor, and honesty.  He was among the people of south Alabama that made it possible for me to find a home here.  I will miss him.

Greg was one of my coworkers, of whom I only knew for a short while. It's amazing how much you can learn about a person in a short while. I will miss him greatly. I will keep him in my heart, and pray for his friends and family, that God gives them the strength to cope with their loss. He is in  greater place, and we will see him again..
