Jackie Cox Janis

July 6, 1981 – January 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Cox Janis on January 16, 2025. She was 43 years old and surrounded by love at the time of her passing. Jackie was born on July 6, 1981 in Pell City, Alabama to Jack Cox and Carmelita Adkins. She grew up in Vandiver, Alabama. She was a vibrant, inspirational, and loving mother, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her greatest joy came from the love and laughter of her children and grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her children: Ashley Ryan (Marcus), Stephen Glaze, Antonio Garza (Toni), Kristinia Sanchez, and Shawn Sanchez; step daughter, Michelle Janis (Atari); 5 grandchildren: Zayden, Rayven, Khylan, Mason, and Maelyn; her brother, Shawn Cox (Brandy); her sister, Kimberly Cox; 2 nieces: Whitney Thornton (Joseph) and Rory Cox; 2 nephews: Jacob Thornton and Graham Cox, and her parents. She is predeceased by her husband Terry Janis and her grandparents. A service to commemorate Jackie’s life will be held on Monday January 20, 2025 at 2pm at Harpersville Methodist Church with a procession to follow. The viewing will be Monday, January 20th 12:00 pm for immediate family and 1-2pm for family and friends. Graveside at Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Vandiver AL.
