

James Webb Welborn, age 93 of Moody, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025. Mr. Welborn served in the United States Air Force and was a member of First Baptist Church in Leeds. He retired from BellSouth Telecommunications in 1991. After retirement, he enjoyed collecting and repairing old clocks and was a member of the Birmingham chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Zella Welborn; his sisters, Emma Jean Williams and Marilyn Pigott; and his brother, Wade Welborn. Mr. Welborn is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dean Welborn; daughters Debra Kulovitz (Kent) and Donna Washington (Ron); Sons, Jerry Welborn (Rachel) and Richard Welborn; grandchildren Shea Mashburn (Paola), Taylor Kulovitz (Lane), Megan Riek (Jordan), Bryan Welborn (Bethany), Andrew Welborn (Leah), Drew Welborn (Ashley), and Chase Welborn (Samantha); 14 great grandchildren, and two very special caregivers, Joyce Holiday and Charlotte Vance. Services for Mr. Welborn will be on Thursday, January 30, 2025 with the visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home 1750 Ashville Road Leeds, Alabama 35094. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the chapel, directed by Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds, Alabama. The burial will be on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens in Picayune, Mississippi.
