Janet Workizer Collier passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on October 17, 1944, and was a longtime resident of Moody, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Collier.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Amanda J. Collier "Mandy" and Dominique Y. Frataccia; grandchildren, Gavin James Collier and Tyler Collier Mussleman; sister, Lynn W. Kirkconnell; niece, Mary Ann Hall; nephews, James Walter Kirkconnell and Timothy Scott Daniel Kirkconnell.
Janet will be remembered most for the love and care she gave so freely to the people in her life. She was a kind, thoughtful, and deeply caring woman who made the people she loved feel seen, remembered, and cared for. She had a beautiful way of considering the needs and feelings of others, often putting thought into the smallest details simply because she cared. Her love was expressed not only in words, but in the countless ways she showed up for the people who mattered to her.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her love and the memories of her kindness with them. She will be deeply missed—not only for who she was, but for the love, warmth, and thoughtfulness she brought into the lives of those around her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds from 2:00PM until 3:00PM. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at the Epiphany Episcopal Church beginning at 2:00PM.
