Janice was a member of Leeds 1st. United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Jefferson State Community College with a degree in Medical Lab Technology. Jan was gifted with children and often worked as a substitute teacher at schools in Irondale. Her parents were the late Lt Colonel USAF HH Jenkins, Jr and Maxine Fryer Jenkins.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Lowe; her 2 daughters: Jean Marie Spurgeon (Randall), and Anne Kathryn Heslop (Ben); her son Keith Robert Lowe; her 2 sisters: Jennifer Florence (Ron), and Jean Pennington (Gary); her brother, Jeffery Jenkins (Nina); and her grandson, Robert Dale Spurgeon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 am, at Leeds 1st. United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
