Jeanette Duckett

Jeanette Duckett, 87, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2022 in the presence of family. She is preceded in death by her husband, George C. Duckett, her parents, Sadie and Selby Sweatt and brother Billy J. Sweatt. She is survived by her brother Dennis Sweatt; five children: Danny (Janet), Pamela (Ronald), Rhonda Lynn (Joseph), Karen (Dean) and Duane (Jennifer); eight grandchildren: Melissa Kay, Anthony, Dale Jr., Chasity, Zach, Steven, Lindsey, Lauren; six great grandchildren: Kaytlyn Eleene, Trenton, Jakob, Audrey, Kylee and Isla Kate; five great-great grandchildren.

Jeanette was an involved member of Eden Westside Baptist Church and an active leader in multiple civic and community organizations. Her life was dedicated to her church, family, friends and community, but in later life, she gained a new love for traveling the world and always loved spending time outdoors gardening and fishing.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Larenda Davis for going above and beyond as a committed caregiver throughout the last few years, also Joseph Barnett and Comfort Care Hospice for their compassionate attention and generous support for Jeanette and her entire family.

The family will be holding a private memorial service. Pallbearers will be: Dale Weems Sr, Joseph Wallace, Bill Kennedy, Dale Weems Jr, Jason Wilson, and Steven Kennedy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alabama Alzheimer’s Association.
