Mr. Birchfield is survived by his wife, Joyce Birchfield; daughters, Francine Hamilton, Phylis DeRose, Lois Birchfield; sons, Joseph Shapiro, Scott Shapiro; sister, Frances Harden (Bob); brother, John Birchfield (Juanita) and 5 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 beginning at 2PM with Services to be held at 4PM.
