
Margaret Hester James “Peggy” Brabham, 93, passed away on July 19, 2013, at her home in Leeds, Alabama. She was born in Warm Sulphur Springs, Georgia, on July 25, 1919, and was the only child of Clarence Eugene and Margaret “Madge” James. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Robarts “Bill” Brabham, and her son, Edward Lawrence “Larry” Brabham.
She is survived by her children, Terrance William “Terry” Brabham (Lynn) of Lake Worth, Florida, Margaret Brabham Little (Frank) of Leeds, Alabama, and Melissa Brabham Maki (Steve) of Laramie, Wyoming , her daughter-in-law Margaret Frances Brabham of West Palm Beach, Florida, four granddaughters, Jessica Nye of Lake Worth, Florida, Tracy Nye of West Palm Beach, Florida, Grace Brabham of Boston, Massachusetts, and Dawn Ruminski (Christopher), two great granddaughters, Jerrica Ruminski, Brittany Nye of West Palm Beach, Florida, and two great great granddaughters, Makala Nye and Mashayla Nye of West Palm Beach, Florida, her sister-in-law Cornelia Brabham Bush of Valdosta, Georgia, and niece Connie Bush Morris (Willard) of Homerville, Georgia.
Though she was a United States Army wife for 21 years, she and her husband were long time residents of West Palm Beach, Florida. She had most recently resided in Leeds, Alabama, with her daughter. During World War II she worked in the United States Intelligence Office in Jacksonville and Miami, Florida. She retired from the Palm Beach County Courthouse in 1992 where she worked for the Clerk of Circuit Courts in Passports and Jury Selection. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach, Florida, for over forty years and most recently a member of The First Baptist Church of Leeds, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held in Leeds, Alabama, with burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where she will be buried next to her husband in the military cemetery on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 1 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 1 PM to 3 PM with a service immediately following at 3 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with Dr. Ray McKenzie officiating.
