Margaret Louise Landis

Margaret Louise Landis, 98 of Leeds Alabama passed away on June 25, 2025. She was the co-owner & operator of Leeds Jewelry from 1952-1974, as well as Co-owner of Mordecia’s Corner Store in Odenville Alabama until her retirement where she returned back to her hometown of Leeds.

She is Predeceased by her husband James (Jim) Landis Sr., her Father James C. Griffis Sr., Mother Katherine I.Griffis, Siblings: Mary Elizabeth Ellis, James C. (Jack) Griffis Jr., and Jerry H. Griffis. Stepsons James H.Landis Jr. and Raymond Landis.

Survived by daughter Ann Ellis Wright (Jack) of Leeds, Marcus C. (Butch) Ellis (Theresa) of Mobile Step daughter Amy Landis, Step sons George (Marilyn) and Warren (Suping) Landis.

Grandchildren are Tina Blackerby, Terry Staff, Ronnie Hooten-Santiago, Kristi House, Kendall Payne and Jan Shunk. 13 Great Grandchildren, 20 Great Great Grand grandchildren, 4 Great Great Great Grandchildren. As well as several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Carol Arbelo has been her loving caregiver, companion and friend that she loved dearly.

Jackie Herrera was a great friend and companion during the death of her husband Jim and caregiver to both.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds. The funeral service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeffery Griffis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery with Bro. Bill Ayers concluding.
