Mary Watson Brooks

Mary Watson Brooks, age 93, of Odenville, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, William H. Brooks; parents, John W. Watson and Grace T. Watson; sister, Alice Irene Eitson (Lou); brother, Frank D. Watson; nephew, Neil Eitson. Mary is survived by her son, Clifton W. Hannon; nieces, Brenda Helms (Judge) and Melissa Stanton (Mark); half sister, Carol P. Hannon; great nieces, Amanda, Racheal, and Sylvia. Mary was a Board Member and Chair Women for E.O.C. and during her time with the Department of Defense. A life long Presbyterian who always supported the Democratic Candidates and believed all persons have God given Rights and Deserve to be Treated with Respect. A fan of Jazz and Blues music. Her favorite song was Bessie Smith, Yellow Dog Blues. After the death of her husband, William Brooks, Mary and her Jack Russell Terrier "Mickey" traveled all around the Southeast US visiting friends young and old. A Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Local Humane Society or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
