Mary Lee Wood

Mary Lee Wood passed on July 2, 2026, at the age of 98, born December 19, 1927, and was a resident of Moody, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Wood and son, Johnny Wood. Mary retired from Southtrust Bank as Senior Supervisor Teller, loved Alabama football, especially Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. She enjoyed line dancing at the Moody Senior Center, loved playing bingo and slot machines. She was a member at Moody First Baptist Church and the last of 5 generations.

Mary is survived by her son, Jim Wood (Linda); grandchildren, Jimmy Wood, Jr. (Tiffany) and Tonja Quick (Jacob); great grandchildren, Tyler Howle (Chloe), Bailee Howle (Chase) and Connor Wood; great grandchild, Wrenlee Howle; brothers, Edwin Honeycutt (Lois) and Tommy Honeycutt (Evie) as well as several niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds from 1:00PM until 2:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds beginning at 2:00PM with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
