

Born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama, Phillip was a man deeply rooted in family, faith, and the simple joys of life. He retired as a dedicated electrician from Nucor Steel in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet strength.
Phillip was a lifelong outdoorsman who found peace in duck hunting and turkey hunting and bird hunting , and he was a proud supporter of Alabama Crimson Tide football. But more than anything, his greatest joy in life was being a grandfather. His grandboys were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Leeds, Alabama, where his faith remained an important foundation throughout his life.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Delenda McMichen Semrick; his children, Ashley Semrick and Nicholas Semrick (Shari Semrick); and his beloved grandchildren, Asher Davis, Reece Manring, Jagger Davis, and Wyatt Semrick.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mark Semrick (Sharon) and Teresa Hudson (George); his brother-in-law, Danny McMichen (Diane); his sister-in-law, Donna Brown (Raymond); along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly: Patrick Morgan, Rob Morgan, Caleb Brown, Jeremiah McMichen, Luke McMichen, Andrew McMichen, Randall Hudson, Amanda Hudson, and Brett Semrick.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Joseph Semrick, and his mother, Willowdean Julie Carr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds beginning at 2:00PM.
