He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Cox; parents, Dessie and Frank Peyton; sister, Mary Terry, and brother, Jo Cox.
He is survived by his daughters, Ranita Haynes and Carrie (David) Lewis; sons, Tim (Nickie) Cox and Tom (Cindy) Cox; grandchildren, Jessica, Haley, Brannon, Brooke, Aubie, Montana, and Levi; great-grandchildren, Aden and Joshua.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 2:00 PM from the chapel at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama.
