I was very saddened today to hear of the death of Mr. Rowan.  Though I only knew him and his family a very few short days, his memory has stated with me.   My heart goes out to you.  Brenda, RN, UAB

I am so sorry to read tonight of your father's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult and trying time.

I only knew Mr. Raymond for 9 Years, for that time I have never met a man that was so compasinate and willing to help others.Mr Raymond always was happy and out going even when times got tuff. He will be missed. My families prayers go out to his family. God bless.

I was truly saddened when I learned of Raymonds passing. I was a co-op student out of Auburn  in 1967 when I first met Raymond. I was impressed by his hard work ethic and kind nature. I was thinking about him recently when I found an old picture of the Alagasco crew from 1967. What a wonderful experience it was working with him, Harold, the Gore brothers, Bug White, Joyce, Catherine, Hattie Mae, and of course Mr Hallmark. You and all who knew him have lost some one special. God bless you.

There are few people that we are honored and priviledged to meet in our lifetime. Raymond was one of those people. He always had a kind word and an attitude that everyone wished that they could aspire to. When I think of the men who have inspired me to be a better person, Raymond's name is right there at the top of the list. He will be missed, but never forgotten. May God bless the Rowen family. My heart goes out to you all, Mr.Rowan was admired by all and his pesence will be greatly missed. He was small in stature but cast a GIANT shadow as he walked through his life as only few men have.I know that he left this earth to serve his Lord and  we all know he stated his new job immediately.

Mr. Raymond Rowan, what can be said about this extra ordinary man, will his family understand the magnatude of lives he has touched through the years.I for one know he was small in statue but cast the shadow of a GIANT.

I have only worked with Mr. Raymond for about 10 years but in that time I'v never known a more positive, upbeat and unselfish man. Many times when I'd come in feeling down his easy going, cheerfull attitude would give me the courage to meet the day! He has been an inspiration not only to myself but many others. He will be missed.

I did not know Mr. Rowan, but I work at Alagasco and have heard nothing but wonderful remembrances of Mr. Rowan since we received word of his passing.  I appreciate his service and dedication to Alagasco and our customers.

What a remarkable man!  I have worked for Alagasco for 25 years and I had the priviledge of working with Raymond via our Company Welding Program.  Raymond was the first in Leeds to pass our comprehensive welding tests.  He out performed men easily half his age and all through the process maintained a serviant heart and a willinness to learn new processes.

Raymond was famous in Alagasco for eating vienna sausages and crackers for lunch.  Once, during our Welding Training, I bought Raymond a case of crackers and vienna sauages from Sam's.  I presented his favorite meal to him in front of all the other men as a little joke right before we all left for lunch at the restaurant.  I'll never forget what he said to me,  "you bought the good ones" referring to the Armour brand.  He said those words in all humility and gratefulness.  He was a man that truly knew hardship and made life better for his family and his co-workers!

I love Raymond and I know that the Lord our God has a very, very special place prepared in His Kingdom for Raymond Lee Rowan.  I know you will all miss him as do we all here at Alagasco.  I hope these words have brought a little smile on your heart about a great man, your husband and father.

Patti and Family, I am so sorry that you are going through this.  Just know that he will be better and is waiting to see you all again.  Remember the good times that you always had with him.   Pop Ray Ray will be truely missed by all.  He was such a good man.

If the success of a mans life can be gauged by the number of lives he positively affected, Mr. Raymond is in a league all alone.  I know of no one that so unselfishly gave of his time to help others.  He is a hero that never, ever wanted attention or recognition for his acts of kindness.

Our dearest Alagasco employee! Raymond will be greatly missed by those that knew him and lives impacted even by those who didn't have the pleasure. Raymond touched so many lives in a postive way and showed us all how to "earn our keep." I remember all the great stories he told us at the shop - my favorite is the one jumping from the train :) Raymond was a great community man and everyone in Leeds knew him.
