Richard Green Layman, age 83, of Springville, AL passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Ann Layman and daughter, Susan Layman Bishop.He was a deacon at Friendship Baptist Church, never met a stranger and was known for being a jokester who enjoyed practical jokes, which is fitting for him to be called home on April Fool's day.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Layman Lawley; son, Richard Mark Layman (Stacey) and grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy and Jacob.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church from 12:00PM until 1:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church beginning at 1:00PM with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds will be handling services.
