Ronald Eugene Channell

Ronald Eugene Channell, age 71, of Leeds, AL passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. He is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Brett Channell; parents, James Eugene Channell and Lillian Otis Griffin Channell.

Mr. Channell was a graduate from Samford University and owner of Terry’s Convenience Store in Leeds for more than 30 years. He was an avid golfer and member at Pine Tree Country Club. He was also a member of the Birmingham Basketball Officials’ Association for more than 30 years. He attended The Church at Brook Hills and was a giving member of the Leeds community for decades.

Mr. Channell is survived by his wife, Wanda Channell; daughters, Jennifer Channell Johnson (Jim), Buffy Channell Hosey (Philip); daughter in law Krystal Channell; step daughters, Jennifer Smith Burtram (Michael), Amanda Smith Mersing, and India Dyer; sister Melissa Channell Ash (Chris); brothers, Randall Otis Channell and Donald Walker Channell (Sally); grandchildren Stephen Torrey Channell (Caly), Shelby Elizabeth Channell, Logan Bryce Channell, Jordan Alexander Johnson, Elijah Pierce Johnson, Addison Elizabeth Johnson, Reed Daniel Agan, Robin Kendell Hosey, Kylie Sierra Hosey, Kayden Ashby Mersing, Cameron Jace Mersing, Samuel Elliott Burtram, Lucy Margaret Burtram, Ethan Michael Burtram, and Evan Matthew Burtram.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral

Home Chapel. Visitation will begin on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 12 Noon.
