Sheila Armstrong

Sheila Jane Armstrong, born Sheila Jane Stephenson, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Leeds, Alabama. She was born January 27, 1953, in Massena, New York, to James and Frances Stephenson. Sheila grew up in Massena, sang in the church choir, graduated from high school there, and later attended nursing school in the state of New York. She devoted nearly 40 years to nursing and caring for others. Sheila married Craig Armstrong, and together they had two sons, Nathyn and Shain Armstrong. When their boys were young, the family moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area. Although Sheila and Craig are no longer married, they remained lifelong friends, along with Craig’s significant other Gerri Goss.

Sheila loved her family, her cats, collecting keychains, and simply having a good time. She was known for her dedicated work ethic and generosity. She loved being actively involved in the lives of her granddaughters when they were younger. She is survived by her sons, Nathyn Armstrong and his fiancée, Laura DeZarn, and Shain Armstrong and his wife, Emily Armstrong; her grandchildren, Lexie Miller and her husband, Tyler Miller, Taylor Armstrong, Damon Armstrong, Aiden Armstrong, and Charlie Armstrong; and her great-granddaughter, Alina Miller.In keeping with Sheila’s wishes, there will be no memorial service, and the family asks that no flowers or donations be sent. Throughout her life, Sheila’s faith never wavered. A lifelong believer in Jesus Christ, she is now at peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
