

He was an avid Alabama fan, and he loved playing golf with his dad and brother Mike.
Steve was a member of the former 85th Street Baptist Church in East Lake now Deerfoot Baptist Church in Trussville, where he made many lifelong friends.
He enjoyed playing church basketball and softball and coached the girls’ basketball team. In his younger days, he played football and baseball at Wahoma Park.
Steve was a 1979 graduate of Banks High School where he also made many lifelong friends. He always looked forward to his class reunions.
Steve had an infectious personality. A great sense of humor. And he was a passionate patriot – loving the United States and speaking out for our freedoms.
Steve leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Holly Haynes, his parents Donald and Anita Haynes, brother Mike Haynes (Lisa), sister Mary Kay King (David), brother Tommy Haynes. Nephews: Dave and Zak King, Cody, Tyler and Mason Haynes, and niece Alexa Haynes. Brother & Sister-in-law Russ & Lynn Hudson.
Aunts, Uncles, and a host of cousins who are more like siblings. As well as a list of friends that goes on and on. To know him was to love him.
The family would like to invite friends to join them in celebrating Steve’s life Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Deerfoot Baptist Church, Trussville, AL.
Visitation with family at 2:00 p.m. and service at 3:00 p.m.
