Sue Washington

Loretta Sue Mashburn Washington was born February 24, 1949, and went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2021. She was 71 years old. She was the oldest of four children born to Leonard and Merry Charles Mashburn. She graduated from St. Clair County High School in 1967. She was retired from The Yellow Pages and The St. Clair County Revenue Office. She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, George Benny Washington; her son, Gerald Wayne Cosby; her daughters, Tami: Michelle Holbert, and Merry Katherine (Sam) Jordan; her grandchildren, Johnny Wayne Cosby, Hannah LeighAnne Pitts, Brittany Michelle Cosby, Toni Danielle King, Elijah De Marcus King, Emma Brooke Jordan and Evan Neil Jordan; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jan (Nicke) Gaspers; her brothers, Charlie (Carole) Mashburn and Earnie (Teena) Mashburn and a host of nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home on Friday February 5, 2021 from 6:00-8:00PM. The funeral will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church.
