Susan Boyd

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Rewis; her sister, Teri Woodward; and her brother, Randall McCombs. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Boyd; her daughter, Amanda Vella (Jamey Vella); her son, Chris Boyd; and her cherished grandchildren, Trenton Culverhouse, Alyssa Culverhouse, Jake Vella, Kate Cardell and Maddie Cardell. She is also survived by her father, Doug McCombs (Charlotte McCombs), her stepfather, Jerry Rewis and her brother Hal McCombs.

A proud retiree of UAB, Susan served as Director of Compliance with dedication and integrity. In retirement, she found great joy in spending time at the lake, quilting, reading, gardening and traveling. Her love for her family—especially her grandchildren—was unwavering, and she was known for her thoughtful nature and giving spirit.

Susan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday June 1st, 2025 from 1:00-3:00PM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama.
