He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Linda Faye Goodwin.
He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Priest (David) and Beth Wood (Josh); sons, Greg Goodwin (Celia), Gary Goodwin (Margaret), and Chris Goodwin; grandchildren, Lindsay Fergerson (Shaun), David Priest Jr. (Stacy), Lynn Goodwin Jr., Jennifer Smith (Wesley), Ethan Sharp, Tyler Goodwin, and Katelyn Blankenship (Dylan); and great-grandchildren, Brynna Wood, Morgan Wood, Gage Goodwin, Sophia Hopkins, Caden Fergerson, Cora Fergerson, Madison Smith, Cayden Bartlett, Kennedy Priest, and Brooks Blankenship.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel, with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
