Zollie "Junior" Whitfield

Junior spent all of his life in Leeds and worked at the Pants Factory until his retirement at age 62. He was at St. Martins for the last several months. Junior was a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia.

He is survived by his son, Gary and daughter-in-law Sheila Whitfield, grandson, Chad and his wife, Lisa Whitfield and three great-grandchildren, Colin, Garrett and Kayla Whitfield.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Martins for the wonderful, compassionate and excellent care he received during his stay there. The family would also like to thank New Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care. Also, a special thank you to Odis Dempsey and Joe Byers who visited him so often and who Junior thought the world of.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Kilgroe Funeral home in Leeds with funeral service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Leeds.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to your favorite charity.
