A U.S. Army retiree and a Vietnam veteran, he is preceded in death by his parents Archie and Margaret and one sister Bobby Jean Wadford.
He is survived by his loving wife Rita; his children: Carlene, Linda, Carl Jr., John and Jeannie; numerous grandchildren; brothers: Charles and James; and sister: Carolyn.
Services will be held at Veterans Cemetery at Fort Polk, January 6th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
