Edward Beacham

Retired MSG Edward “Big Ed” John Beacham was born on Feb 24, 1953 to Garland Thomas Beacham and Lizzie Jeanette Sellers Beacham in Elizabeth City, NC. He passed away on February 28, at his home in Leesville, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father Garland Thomas Beacham of Elizabeth City, NC and daughter, Samantha Armstrong Rodriguez of Silsbee, TX.

MSG (Ret) Beacham dedicated his life to serving his country in the United States Army. He retired at the age of 60 in September of 2013.

In addition to his career with the military, Ed owned several different local businesses wherever he resided.

“Big Ed” is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Debbie Elkins Beacham, of Leesville, LA, mother, Lizzie Jeanette Sellers Beacham Miller and husband, John of Grand Bay, AL, a son Dustin Edward Beacham and wife, Miranda of DeRidder, LA and two daughters Brandy Beacham Kelley and husband, Richard of New Llano, LA and Nicole Hampshire Deters and husband, Chad of Hineston, LA.

Ed has two beautiful sisters Diane Beacham Shirah and husband, Tommy of Headland, AL and Jeananice Ione Beacham and partner Wendy Alvarado of Grand Bay, AL.

Ed had eight grandchildren who had him wrapped around their fingers: Andrew Kelley, Alexandra, Karrington, Ashtyn and Ayden Beacham, Savanna Rodriguez and Chad Jr. and Jeremie Deters.

MSG (Ret) Beacham was an active member of the American Legion in New Llano and had an overwhelming passion for El Caminos and the restoration of all hot rod automobiles. He loved spending countless hours tinkering with car parts in his shop, reading old westerns and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia.

If Ed wasn’t planning his next trip to the upcoming swap meet he was relaxing at home with his favorite girl Malibu his Chihuahua.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home from 5PM – 9PM Friday, March 3, and resuming on Saturday, March 4 at 8:30AM. Services will be held in the chapel at Hixson Funeral Home at 2PM with Brother Sandy Guinn officiating.
