

Mrs. Gertrude “Trudy” Hildebrand, 89, of Fisher, LA passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017. She was born on June 20, 1927, to Freidrich and Sophia Haag in Munich Germany. Mrs. Hildebrand was married to the love of her life for 66 years. She was a WWII survivor. She traveled extensively with her husband while he was in the USAF. She loved to garden, read and cook; she was the “best cook ever”! She had a love for animals, especially, dogs. Mrs. Hildebrand was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Florien. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Mrs. Hildebrand was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hildebrand; parents, Freidrich Haag and Sophia.
Those left to cherish her memory three sons, Gilbert Hildebrand and wife, Robin, James Hildebrand and wife, Liz, Charles “Chuck” Hildebrand and wife, Tanya; two daughters, June Carol “Miki” Phillips and husband, Jeff, Janis Lynn “Jae” Howard and husband, Russ; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2017, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville, LA. Brother John Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
