Glenda Berube was born October 22, 1940 and passed through the Gates of Heaven on August 2, 2012. Her welcoming party included her parents, sisters, brother and the love of her life, her husband, Ray.
Those left to cherish her memory are 4 children, Elizabeth (Gary) Lyons, Raynold (Angie) Berube, Robbie (Regina) Berube of Leesville, LA., Pamela (Richard) Peters of Casper, Wyoming, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Barbara McFarlin of Rockwall, Texas, Trina Haymon and Freddie Taylor of Leesville, LA., numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of relatives and friends.
Prior to becoming disabled by her illness, Glenda was employed at Wal-Mart where she is best remembered as the “lady in the sewing dept”. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was happiest when she had a book in her hand. As a military wife, she followed her husband and made a home wherever his career led them or patiently waited stateside for his return when he served in Korea and Vietnam. Even in her lengthy illness, her primary concern was her children and grandchildren and she was immensely proud of her great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her humor, stubbornness at times and her determination to keep going as long as she possibly could. The last few years were a struggle for her but through it all she was herself some days a joy and others “not so much”. Until we are all reunited again, we will miss her but we are rejoicing that she is now without pain and is waiting for us just on the other side…
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM and will resume visitation on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 8:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Visitation and services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville.
