Lola Monk

Ms. Monk was a lifelong member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Ms. Monk was a permanent fixture at Ray’s grocery where she loved to greet and have conversation with the patrons as they came into the store. She was well known in the area for her famous biscuits that she use to make.

Preceded in death by her husband: Ervin Monk; Parents: Olivia Gill and Webb Gill; Son: Howard Monk; Brothers: Clovis Gill and Cecil Gill; Great-grandson: Brad Robinson.

Those left to cherish her memory are, Daughter: Sharon and husband Ray Charrier of Leesville; Daughter-in-law: Evelyn Monk of Prairieville, LA.; Grandchildren: Karan (Bubba) Robinson of Leesville, Donna (Chuck) Fletcher of Cotile, LA., Mike (Mandy) Charrier of Leesville, Roger (Ann) Monk of Walker, LA., Sheila Monk of Cotile, LA.; Great-grandchildren: Brittney (Brady) Glasier, Brooklyn Robinson, Shaley Charrier, Maci Charrier, Ethan Charrier, Brandon Fletcher.

Visitation will be Friday August 26, 2011 from 3:00 pm until time of service at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in LaCamp, LA. Service will be Saturday August 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Bro. Joseph Merchant and Bro. Shawn Waggoner will be officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in LACamp, LA., under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.

Pallbearers will be: Millard Monk, Lenard Monk, Royce Fletcher, Carlton Jeter, Ralph Gill, and Ronald Carruth. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Gill and Mike Charrier.
