Maria Concepcion Wheeler

Maria immigrated to the United States in 1961 with her daughter Maria. She became a U.S. citizen in 1992, which was one of the proudest days of her life. She was volunteer of the month at the Leesville Senior Citizens Center, several times, where she enjoyed serving coffee to others and visiting.

Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elmer E. Wheeler. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Maria R. Crawford and husband Rev. Ira B. Crawford of Leesville; three grandsons; SFC Paul A. Crawford of Ft. Benning, GA, Robert J. Crawford of Alexandria, LA, and Rev. Christopher J. Crawford of Start, LA; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends may join the visitation on Monday, December 23rd, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
