

Funeral services for Maximino Gonzalez, Sr., 91, of New Llano, LA will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville, LA. Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
Mr. Gonzalez went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 6, 2017. He was born June 6, 1925 in Austin, TX to Sabastian Gonzalez and Julia Gallegas. He lived in Vernon Parish for almost 50 years and was originally from Austin, TX. He proudly served his country for 24 years. He went into the military at the end of WWII and served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking for them during the holidays. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville. He loved fishing, animals, and working in his yard. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Sabastian Gonzalez and Julia Gallegas; two sisters; three brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 71 years, Francisca Gonzalez; two sisters; three sons, Maximino Gonzalez, Jr. of Alexandria, LA, Waldo Gonzalez of Florida, Edmund Gonzalez and wife, Patricia, of Lake Charles, LA; three daughters, Mary Topolski and husband, Johnny, of North Carolina, Grace Reagan of Leesville, Sandra Bailey and husband, Brad, of Anacoco, LA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-
grandchildren.
