Sidney Johnson Chance Jr.

Sidney J. “S.J.” Chance, Jr., a 57 year resident of Vidor, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013. He was born August 21, 1925 in Plainview Community, Louisiana. S.J. was a World War II Navy veteran, proudly serving his country aboard the USS Suwannee aircraft carrier. He was a retired supervisor with NL Shafer.

S.J. is survived by his son, Glenn Chance and wife Rebecca; daughter Debra Holmes and husband Garland; granddaughters Shanna Burke and husband Todd and Renee Reed; grandsons Jesse Carter and Chris Reed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville, Louisiana. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Oak Grove cemetery, Hornbeck, Louisiana.
