Harrington, Fred A., Jr. (Fritz), 54, Tower, MI. Fritz lost his battle with cancer on Dec. 27 at the home of his parents in St. James City, Fla., with his loving family at his side. Fritz was born Oct. 1, 1958, to Fred and Katherine (Helmreich) Harrington. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School, and went on to self teach himself to become a master carpenter whose work was admired by all who saw it. Fritz loved the outdoors…fishing, hunting, mushrooming, campfires, and cutting down his own trees from which he built his home. He marched to the beat of his own drum, putting smiles on those around him with his jokes and card-playing. He loved showing off his grilling skills and having his little cabin filled with family and friends. He spent the last two years helping his parents and teaching his many skills to his brother-in-law. He leaves behind his parents, a brother, Steve (Margarete) of Edmore, two sisters, Jeanne DeMaertelure of Akron and Molly (John) Woodward of St. James City, two nephews, Raymond DeMaertelure (Julie Jakubowski) and Cody Harrington, two nieces, Melissa (Nate) Hebl and Chelsea Harrington, a great-niece, Katelyn Hebl, and his beloved dog, Belle, along with many other friends and relatives. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Ray. Cremation has taken place in Florida.
