OBITUARY

Delbert Dean Peyton Sr.

May 29, 1931September 4, 2020

Delbert Dean Peyton Sr., age 89 passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020. Delbert was born May 29, 1931 in Alton, Illinois to Charlene M. Peyton and Bert F. Peyton, and was married to Betty Lou Peyton.

Delbert proudly served his county in the U. S. Navy for 6 years, 11 months and 27 days as a Radio Mechanic. He received commendations for Good Conduct, China Service, National Defense, United Nations, and Korean Service. After leaving the Navy, he continued working with electronics in the aircraft industry.

Family was very important to Delbert and he always enjoyed celebrating his wedding anniversary. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and being ornery/teasing to make people laugh and roll their eyes. After Betty passed away, Delbert enjoyed spending time with his son-in-law Dennis doing "beer fires" and talking about all of his adventures.

Delbert is survived by daughter Jeannene Boster; and son Delbert Dean Peyton, Jr..

Delbert was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Peyton; father Bert F. Peyton and mother Charlene M. Peyton.

Delbert will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Noble Drive, San DIego, CA 92122 on October 5, 2020 at 1pm with Military Honors.
