August 30, 1932 – November 24, 2014
Born in Saginaw, Michigan to Dulcie Adine & Robert Gentry Cummings. Gentria moved to Liberty, Missouri in 1933. She traveled through many cities, attending various schools as she traveled with her mother and lived with family near and dear to her heart growing up. She moved to Ronan, Montana – “the Alps of America” - in 1947 with her mother Adine. Here she met her husband, John Robert McCrea and married on December 29, 1952. Both are graduates of University of Montana, Missoula. John and Gentria moved to San Diego in 1955.
Gentria was a gifted writer, worked as an accountant for many corporations, a small business owner in private practice, and Partner McCrea Music Company - 1980 to present. She always believed in the spirit of community remaining active and involved in St. John of the Cross Catholic Church since 1957, little league, bridge clubs, family celebrations, and the small businesses in the Village of La Mesa.
Gentria is survived by her husband, John, five children and ten grandchildren. Carol Adine McCrea, Susan McCrea, Gentry & Lori McCrea, Mary Sotelo, and Jamie & Tina McCrea. She always instilled a spirit of tradition and celebration and to see beyond struggle to hope! We treasure dearly our memories of many, many, wonderful family times together with extended family and friends. The McCrea home door was always open and all were welcome.
Our precious Gentria – Mom - We love you and we thank you for sharing your life with us!
