

Raymond was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Conrad and Mary Johnson where they raised their 8 children. Raymond met his wife of 66 years in KC MO, married her and they moved to California. They lived in and ran the historical 1920 Hotel Palomar owned by his Aunt Irene in Old Town Temecula. Later they migrated south to San Diego and Lemon Grove. They were blessed with 6 children 5 boys and 1 girl. That family grew to 25 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great- Great Grandson. With their commitment and love for each other, plus their faith in GOD they were shining examples of what true love means.
Raymond was a devote Catholic, who touch many lives in his 87 years on this earth. He always put God and Family first. He was the greatest role model for his family. He raised them with God in their lives, the importance of family values and traditions, and a strong work ethic. Raymond worked hard starting at an early age until his retirement. Starting out as a Department Store Clerk to Window Dresser, later running a business Continental Press he owned with his Uncle Joe Gigliotti. He worked at Convair (Gen Dynamics) until his last employment of 28 years as Manager of Record Retention-Office Services- Office Supplies at ROHR Ind. In Chula Vista, CA. He supported many Charites from Catholic Missionaries, Catholic Diocese, Catholic churches, Veterans administration, and various Cancer Societies. He was member of St. Rita’s Church and St. John of the Cross. Raymond enjoyed his many hobbies of Coin, stamp, and Norman Rockwell collections. He enjoyed Photography and Videography which was driven by his wife who always had a camera and film in her hands. She wanted to have all our special occasions captured on videos. The family now has all those moments preserved to cherish for years thanks to them. Raymond loved animals and had several pets over his years on earth. His love of GOD, his family, his friends, and his pillar of strength is his legacy to all that knew him.
Raymond is survived by his 5 sons ~ Ronald and wife Linda Johnson of Tullahoma, TN; Michael Johnson of San Diego, CA; Steven and wife Leah of Chula Vista, CA; John and wife Kathy of Rancho Bernardo, CA; Raymond A. Johnson of Lemon Grove, CA; Daughter Debra Johnson of Spring Valley, CA; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, Grandchildren, and friends. His Sisters ~ Barbara O’Brien of Yucca Valley, CA; Bonnie Thomas of Bartlesville, OK; Doris Bookhart of Bartlesville, OK; Vicky Peace of Kingsland, GA; Sister-in-laws ~ Frances and husband Anthony Lombardo; Beth Pascuzzi of KC, MO; Gail Estes of KC, MO.
Raymond was proceeded in death by his wife Micheline M. Johnson; His parents; His Brother Bill and wife Shirley Johnson of KC, KS; Sisters ~ Mary Ella of KC MO; Shirley McAleenan of Wisconsin; Betty Bandy of KC, KS; Brother-in-laws ~ Sam Pascuzzi of KC, MO; Bob O’Brien of Hemet, CA; Jerry Thomas of Bartlesville, OK; Howard Bookhart of Nowata, OK; His Grandson Billy Oren Drake of Mira Loma, CA; and many other family and friends who he has undoubtedly reunited with in Heaven.
