Ronald Louis Laird was born August 1, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey to Martha and Robert Laird. In 1947, Ronald joined the Navy. In the Navy he was a Fire Control-man, he was on the USS Eldorado and was in the Korean War. After spending almost 5 years in the military, he was discharged. Ronald chose to make a life in San Diego and married Dorothy Roderick. He worked at Convair, was a television repair man, and then worked at North Island as a civilian on the aircraft assembly line, the shop, quality assurance and customer service. He retired there in 1984. Some of the things Ronald liked to do in his life were roller skate dancing, bowling, swimming, gardening, working on cars and racing motorcycles. Ronald had 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grand-children. He will be dearly missed by everyone
