I am deeply saddened to learn of Alice's death.  She was a nice lady who loved puppies.  I remember her little white beloved Toco from the 1970s.

I am saddened to hear about Alice's passing. I worked with her at CNC Access, which was my first job right out of college. She was such a pleasure to work with.  My thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.  

I was so saddened by the news of Alice's passing.  I was lucky enough to share many happy times with her in Raleigh.  Heaven has gained a sweet and beautiful Angel.  

Saying goodbye to someone we love is heartbreaking.  Tim and I have some great memories of Alice and Jerry. I know she is so happy to see him again.  Our prayers go out to the whole family in this time of loss. Alice was always the one I called when I had news or just needed someone to talk too. I will miss her dearly. 


Betty,  Alice was a sweet friend that I met when she was living in the Raleigh area in 1976. We were dating brothers and I married one.  We have kept in touch through the years. I last talked with her in December.

Alice Greene Butts, 78, of Hudson, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Carolinas Health Care System in Kings Mountain.

She was born June 28, 1939 in Watauga County to the late Donald Greene and Wilma Hampton Greene. 

She is proceeded in death by her son, Jerry Malloy Butts.

Alice was an avid fan of North Carolina State Wolf Pack.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Laxton, niece, Jena Laxton Bentley and husband Larry, nephew, Terry Dale Laxton and wife Cathy and several great nephews and one great niece.
 
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Edyth Pruitt officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery in Blowing Rock.  

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Laxton, Ian Laxton, Jonathan Hamby, Josh Bentley, Lance Short, Josh Lackey and honorary pallbearers will be Tony Cothren, Dayne Chester.

 A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
