Anna Mae Davis

January 4, 1930 – May 28, 2018

Lenoir—Anna Mae Mitchell Davis, 88, of Lenoir passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lenoir.

Mrs. Davis was born on January 4, 1930 in Avery County to the late Lewis Mitchell and Pearl Jones Mitchell.

Anna was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally, being a mother was more important to her than anything else she was ever involved in. She worked in the cafeteria in the Caldwell County Schools for many years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Jack Davis and two brothers: Willard and Clint Mitchell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Ralph Edward Davis and wife Brenda of Lenoir, Terry Lee Davis and wife Teresa of Elk Park, Joseph Matthew Davis and wife Mai of Conover, daughters: Anna Ruth Forbes and husband David of Newland, Elizabeth Ann Triplett and husband Lonnie of Lenoir, Betty Jean Thompson of Granite Falls and a sister: Doris Houston of Elk Park.

Also left to cherish her memory are ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service to honor her memory will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Davis officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Davis, Ralph Davis, Billy Townsend, Nathan Davis, Ethan Combs and Zachary Combs.

Memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church at 4522 Hwy 127 Hickory, NC 28601.
