

Mr. Bowers was born in Caldwell County to the late Archie Bowers Sr. and Charlotte Hatton Bowers.
Archie was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, his life revolved around his family. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and was a member of The Life Center in Lenoir. Archie was a fun loving person; he truly enjoyed time with his family. He was affectionately known as :”Unc” or “Granddad” to many who were no relation at all. To know Archie meant you loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Nolan Bowers and Larry Douglas Bowers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of eighteen years, Zondral Thompson Bowers of the home, daughters; Argentina Bowers of Mooresville, Rachel Thompson of the home, sons, Michael Christian Hollifield of Greensboro, Sanders Douglas Bowers of Lenoir, sister; Sue Hartso of Lenoir, brothers; Claude Early Bowers of Morganton, Joseph Boyce Bowers of Hickory, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to honor Mr. Bowers will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at The Life Center in Lenoir with Reverend Dr. Terry Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm at The Life Center.
Serving as pallbearers will be Leven Hendrix Jr., Brandon Wilder, Merv Hartso, Jonathan Bowers, Brian Isbell and Jadien Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leven Hendrix, Tony Isbell, Greg Hawkins, Samuel Sturgis, Maury Patterson, Jimmy Harshaw and Sonny Harshaw.
