Betty Spencer Hoffman

Mrs. Hoffman was born in Auburn, Alabama to the late Joe C. Spencer and Stella Hayes Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Jasper Hoffman; a daughter, Mary Hoffman, her brothers, John Hayes Spencer and Joe Frank Spencer.

She was co-owner of Hoffman Paving Company and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lenoir.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jasper Hoffman of Lenoir, David Hoffman and wife Martha of Lenoir, and Daniel Hoffman of Lenoir; a daughter, Emilie Hoffman of Boone; her grandchildren, Angela McCloy, Joseph Hoffman, Jenny Coffey and Mary Lindsay Bolick; a great grandson, Declan McCloy.

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jasper Hoffman, David Hoffman, Daniel Hoffman, Joseph Hoffman, Patrick McCloy and Clint Coffey.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
